NAB makes senior changes
(5 October 2007 – Australia) National Australia Bank chief executive John Stewart has announced changes to the bank’s group executive committee.
Stewart said that Michael Ullmer, current chief financial officer, has been appointed to the role of deputy group chief executive officer.
However, Stewart said that Ullmer did not want the chief executive role after Stewart’s retirement, but wanted a broader role within the bank.
Stewart indicated that these leadership appointments are to progressively hand over the delivery of NAB’s strategic agenda into the future.
Ullmer will be replaced by current group executive general manager, development and new business, Mark Joiner as chief financial officer.
The movements have continued, this time in the business banking area. George Frazis, will replace Joiner, moving from his current role of executive general manager business and private banking. Frazis will also join the group executive committee.
A replacement for the business and private banking executive role is set to be announced, with Joseph Healy, regional general manager for corporate and private banking, taking the role in the interim.
