New appointee to NAB board has NZ focus

(17 November 2005 – Australia) National Australia Bank has appointed a new non executive director. Chairman of NAB subsidiary Bank of New Zealand, Kerry McDonald, will join the bank’s board from 1 December 2005.

McDonald is also chairman of ASX listed gold mining company Oceana Gold and was previously managing director of Comalco New Zealand.

NAB chairman Michael Chaney said McDonald’s appointment added to the corporate experience of the board and would provide particular experience of the New Zealand economy and market.

McDonald, for his part, said he was pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the bank’s turnaround and cultural change agenda.
