New Appointments at CIMB Group

(25 January 2012 – Malaysia) CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (CIMB Group) today announced the appointments of new directors at CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB Bank) and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (CIMB Islamic). Joseph Dominic Silva was appointed as non-independent non-executive director of CIMB Bank on 6 December 2011.

Silva is currently the executive director of Investments of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and also sits on the Board of Commissioners of PT Bank CIMB Niaga, Tbk. He has 18 years experience in the banking sector with extensive regional and international exposure.

The Bank also appointed Puan Rosnah Dato’ Kamarulzaman as independent non-executive director effective this week. Puan Rosnah is currently a Trustee of CIMB Foundation. She started her career as a management trainee with the former Bank of Commerce in 1979, and left the Bank in 2005, after its merger with CIMB.

Her last appointment at the bank was as senior executive vice president heading the Banking Unit, responsible for Retail Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury and International Banking.

In addition to the above, Cik Habibah Abdul has been appointed as independent non-executive director of CIMB Islamic effective 19 January 2012. Cik Habibah was previously the group partner of the Audit & Business Advisory Division in Ernst & Young (EY). She brings with her 34 years of experience in advisory services to financial institutions as well as large public listed entities, multinational and local corporations.
