New boss at BNP Paribas Securities Services

(8 May 2006 – Australia) BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Jean-Marc Pasquet as managing director and head of the business for Asia Pacific. Pasquet replaces Gail Burke who has moved to London to take up the newly created role of chief operating officer for BNP Paribas Securities Services’ UK operations.

Pasquet will pick up the reins in August after relocating from Paris to Sydney. He is currently global deputy head of Product and Marketing, and head of the French Territory.

BNP Paribas Securities Services chief executive officer Jacques Philippe Marson said Australasia was a strategically important location for the business and had been a "very successful one".

"There are significant opportunities for us in this market where investors are sophisticated and premium, value added services are in demand," he said.

Marson said the business grew from A$96 billion in 2003 to A$$190 billion currently under Burke’s leadership.

"We are very excited to have Gail in the UK, acknowledging her successful track record of business management and growth in the Australasia market," he said.
