New CFO for BOQ

New CFO for BOQ

(5 March 2012 – Australia) Bank of Queensland (BOQ) announced the appointment of Anthony Rose as chief financial officer (CFO). Rose has considerable experience in the finance and banking industry having served as CFO - Suncorp Bank, within ASX top 20 company Suncorp Group Limited, since 2008.

BOQ managing director and CEO Stuart Grimshaw said Rose was a strong performer with skills in the right areas for BOQ’s growth plans.

"Anthony brings a well-rounded depth of experience to the role, with proven performance in banking, strategy, analysis, investment banking and financial management.

"I’m delighted to have Anthony on board. His knowledge and experience is spot on for BOQ’s future direction," he said.

BOQ’s current CFO Ewan Cameron will remain with the Bank to ensure a smooth transition.

"Ewan’s contribution to the bank over the past 19 months has been solid and significant," said Grimshaw. "He remains a valued member of the team."

Anthony Rose joins BOQ after almost four years with Suncorp where he assisted steering the bank through challenging times.

He has more than 12 years experience in investment banking covering financial institutions; most recently as director, Investment Banking with Citigroup in Sydney.

Rose said he was excited to be joining the BOQ team and was looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.

"I see tremendous upside in the organisation. I’m looking forward to being part of Stuart’s team and working to turn that upside into reality."

Anthony Rose’s appointment follows BOQ’s announcement last week of the creation of two new Group Executive positions in Agribusiness and Business Banking; and Retail and Online Banking; filled by Brendan White and Matt Baxby respectively.
