New chairman for JBWere

(23 May 2011 – Australia) National Australia Bank (NAB) chief financial officer Mark Joiner has been appointed chairman of the JBWere board. The current chairman Michael Ullmer decided to step down from the post, and Mr Joiner will take over as of 1 July.

JBWere chief executive Paul Heath said Mr Joiner's experience in investment banking and consulting would benefit the firm.

Before joining NAB in 2006, Mr Joiner was chief financial officer and head of strategy and mergers and acquisitions for Citigroup's global wealth management business based in New York.

In 2009, NAB paid $99 million to acquire 80.1 per cent of the merged firm, renaming the private wealth business JBWere Pty Ltd in November 2009.
