New head of kiwi operations for BNP Paribas Securities Services

(13 July 2004 – New Zealand) BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Jennifer Bertie as head of its operations in New Zealand, starting 1 October. Bertie joins BNP Paribas from insurance company AXA, where she was responsible for Investment Operations. This followed senior management roles at Royal and Sun Alliance Asset Management, State Street and National Provident Fund.

Bertie will replace Nicolas Faust who relocated from Europe to help integrate the French bank’s Australian and New Zealand businesses with Cogent, which it bought from AMP in 2002.

Head of BNP Paribas Securities Services, Gail Burke, said Bertie’s local knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand industry would add great value to the New Zealand operations.
