New HR exec for Suncorp
(27 October 2009 – Australia) Suncorp has announced the appointment of Scott Alomes as its senior human resources executive.
Mr Alomes will commence his role with the group in November and will report directly to chief executive Patrick Snowball.
Mr Snowball said that the appointment of Mr Alomes was strategically important to the transformation of the group.
Previously, Mr Alomes has held senior executive roles at Commonwealth Bank and National Australia Bank, and has had an extensive career in the financial services industry.
Mr Snowball said that he has spent considerable time listening to the views of stakeholders within Suncorp, as well as externally, and one of the consistent messages he has heard is that the bank needs to make better use of its existing strengths if it wants to realise its potential.
Mr Alomes said he is looking forward to the challenges offered by his newly created role.
Mr Alomes added that he accepted this role because the new chief made it clear that building Suncorp’s culture and meeting the needs of the employees is one of his key priorities.
