New MD for ANZ’s Pacific business

New MD for ANZ’s Pacific business

(29 November 2005 – Australia) ANZ has appointed Bob Lyon as non executive chairman of ANZ’s Pacific business. Lyon is retiring from the Pacific managing director role and will be replaced by Mike Guerin. Guerin will report to ANZ group managing director Asia Pacific, Elmer Funke Kupper.

ANZ chief executive John McFarlane said Lyon had led the Pacific business since 1994 through a period of substantial growth and presided over several acquisitions.

He said Lyon’s new role consisted of providing support and advice to the business and that he would continue to serve on boards of ANZ subsidiaries.

Guerin moves from his role of managing director, Regional and Rural Banking. He also held senior roles in Australia and New Zealand in business and retail banking, and asset finance.
