New MD of Institutional at ANZ

New MD of Institutional at ANZ

(25 February 2005 – Australia) ANZ has made another appointment in its Institutional Banking business with Joseph Healy being named managing director of the division. Healy was previously head of Regional Investment Banking and Private Equity at the bank and was behind the bank’s "Wall Street to Main Street" strategy of providing mid-sized businesses with investment banking services.

He has been in the role in an acting capacity since December last year following Dr Murray Horn’s decision to take a two year break.

Before joining ANZ Healy worked for CIBC Wood Gundy and also held senior roles at Citibank in the UK, Europe and New Zealand.

The appointment of Healy follows the recent appointments of Cathryn Carver as managing director, Corporate & Structured Financing, and Scott Reid as NSW state chairman. All will report to group managing director, Institutional, Steve Targett.

Targett said Healy would focus on growing the business, developing the bank’s customer proposition and retaining its leadership over the long term.
