New strategy head at CBA as Cosenza takes time out

(22 June 2004 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank has appointed Grahame Petersen as group executive of strategic development following the decision of his predecessor Adrian Cosenza to take long service leave. CBA chief executive David Murray said the role was too important to leave vacant for more than six months, hence the appointment of Petersen.

"Grahame brings the skill, experience and expertise essential to the role as well as an intimate understanding of the Which new Bank project which is a key responsibility of the position," Murray said.

"He most recently managed the bank’s study into customer segments which is one of the fundamental pillars of the Which new Bank customer service approach," he said.

Petersen has worked for 24 years in the finance industry, and is currently executive general manager, Commonwealth and Colonial Products in CBA’s investment and insurance division. He is also heading the integration of CBA and Colonial funds management services and products.
