Noel Quinn to head HSBC’s commercial banking division

(22 December 2015 – United Kingdom) HSBC Holdings plc, the parent company of the HSBC Group, announces that with immediate effect Noel Quinn will become Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking (CMB).

Quinn joined HSBC in 1987, and has led CMB in both Asia-Pacific (2011-2015) and the UK (2008-2011).

Noel succeeds Simon Cooper who resigned as Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking and a member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Bank Canada, joining competitor Standard Charted.
