Pusan Bank deposits exceed US$14.5 billion

(4 July 2005 - South Korea) Regional South Korean lender Pusan Bank has reported its' deposits exceeded 15 trillion won (US$14.5 billion) for June. Pusan Bank said its deposits outstanding came to 15.3 trillion won as of June 30. The figure was reached more than two years after total deposits exceeded 14 trillion won in May 2003.

The lender more than doubled its net profit in the first quarter from a year earlier, helped by rising commission incomes and increased interest margins.

Earnings came to 52.7 billion won in the January-March period, up 103.5 percent from a year earlier, with operating profit rising 134.1 percent to 74.9 billion won.
