Rabo gets chairman of international operations
(24 July 2006 – Australia) Rabobank has appointed Hans ten Cate as chairman of international operations on the bank’s Australia and New Zealand board of directors.
Ten Cate will sit on the two boards but remain based in Rabobank’s head office in Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
Rabobank Australia & New Zealand chairman James Graham said Mr ten Cate was a highly regarded member of the international banking community and would be a considerable asset to the board.
"Hans ten Cate’s appointment will also ensure continued strong linkage between Rabobank International’s strategy and the activities of the bank in this important and growing region of the world," he said.
Ten Cate joined Rabobank in 2000 after a 25 year career with ABN Amro. He is a member of the Rabobank Group’s executive board and was appointed chairman of the managing board of Rabobank International this month.
He takes the place left by the retirement of former international deputy chairman Wouter Kolff.
Other directors of the Australasian board are: James Graham, Bill Gurry, Erich Fraunschiel, John Palmer, David Smithers, Rik van Slingelandt, Australia and New Zealand chief executive Bruce Dick, and deputy CEO Andrew Davis.
