Rabobank and Dutch supermarket team up

(15 September 2011 – Global) Rabobank has teamed up with Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn to pilot a sticker-based mobile contactless payments system. The trial will have participants use the Mijn ID NFC stickers, which are linked to their Rabobank Minitix wallet to attach to their mobile phones.

They will then be able to make low value payments at Albert Heijn's store in the Amsterdam WTC building by waving their handsets against specially designed readers developed by Chess iX.

The Chess iX Minitix POSserver will provide authentication, authorisation and routing of transactions.

Rabobank began testing NFC stickers with its staff last year, letting them use the MiniTix system for purchases at canteens and cafeterias.
