Rabobank continues growth

(9 December 2009 – Australia) Food and agribusiness bank, Rabobank has continued its growth in Queensland with the announcement that it will open a new branch in Bundaberg in 2010. Justin Harrison, state manager, Queensland and Northern Territory, Rabobank, said that Bundaberg represented a very important stage in the bank’s ongoing growth and commitment to rural and regional Queensland.

The new Bundaberg office represents Queensland’s 15th branch and the 53rd branch in the Rabobank Australia suite.

The Bundaberg branch will be headed up by Peter Townsend, one of Rabobank’s experienced rural managers.

Mr Townsend said he was looking forward to establishing the Rabobank branch in the region and building strong ties with the local and rural communities.

As a major service centre with a population of approximately 44,000 people, Bundaberg is an important location to service the region’s broad mix of farming enterprises, including sugar cane, horticulture, beef cattle and cropping, Mr Townsend he added.

Mr Townsend also said that Rabobank’s presence here will give clients more local service and representation. The bank has a range of products and services to offer, including loans, equipment finance, deposits, succession facilitation and a food and agribusiness research team who provide up-to-date analysis on the key agribusiness sectors.

With these services Rabobank hopes to provide clients with valuable insights to help with their business decisions, Mr Townsend added.
