Reprieve for homeowners

(20 May 2010 – Australia) Economists say borrowers can expect a reprieve from more interest rate rises in the near future, as the Reserve Bank assesses its tightening cycle on the economy. Their forecast comes after minutes of this month's RBA board meeting show the central bank board is confident interest rates are about where they should be.

ICAP senior economist Adam Carr says inflation will be the guiding force in RBA rate decisions this year.
