S&P appoints fund data and research manager

(5 September 2005 – Australia) Standard & Poor’s has appointed Simon Karaban as quantitative data manager. Formerly data team manager at Morningstar Research, Karaban will oversee S&P’s fund database, provide technical support to the fund data and client services team and work on developing new products to distribute the rating agency’s fund data and research.

Before joining Morningstar, Karaban worked as a business analyst in the real estate industry.

He will be based in S&P’s Sydney office and report to director of Fund Data and Client Services, Julie Orr.

Orr said Karaban’s appointment highlighted S&P’s commitment to build the best fund data and research team in Australia.
