StanChart Appoints New Chief Sustainability Officer

(1 February 2022 – Singapore) Standard Chartered has appointed Marisa Drew as its Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO).

In her new role, effective 1 July 2022, Drew will chair the Group’s Sustainability Forum, drive its net zero commitments, oversee the existing Sustainable Finance and Sustainability Strategy teams and join the Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking (CCIB) management team. She will report to CCIB CEO Simon Cooper.

Drew joins from Credit Suisse where she spent 18 years, last as its CSO and global head of the sustainability strategy, advisory & finance group.

“We’ve made great progress on our sustainability agenda and on building a leading sustainable finance franchise; we are gearing up to push ahead even faster to deliver on this critical pillar of our strategy, and we’re very pleased that Marisa is joining us to spearhead that effort,” said Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters.

Drew remains with Credit Suisse as CSO until the end of February, as planned, to assist with the transition and handover to her replacement, Emma Crystal.
