SUN raises ATM numbers
(18 April 2008 – Australia) Suncorp has announced the purchase of 56 ATMs from Citibank.
The Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) are located in Westfield Shopping Centres throughout Australia, with the majority located in NSW.
In fact, 33 will be located in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, seven in Queensland, five in South Australia, two in Western Australia and two in ACT.
The ATMs are considered to be in high traffic locations, which is part of the reason for the purchase from Citibank.
David Foster, group executive retail banking, said the acquisition of the ATMs was a strategically significant move for Suncorp's banking business.
He added that it was in line with its 3-year strategy to progressively expand its reach, distribution and market presence in Australia.
He also said that the acquisition of an existing network of ATMs has allowed the bank to further increase its presence outside Queensland in a cost effective manner.
All 56 of the ATMs have been rebranded and are now available as full-service Suncorp ATMs.
