Suncorp wraps up executive team
(8 December 2009 – Australia) The group chief executive officer of Suncorp, Patrick Snowball, has finalised his senior executive team with the appointment of Robert Stribling to the position of chief risk officer for the group.
Mr Stribling has worked in many different areas of financial services risk management for over 30 years, having held senior executive roles in the United States, Europe and Asia.
He has also worked with a variety of large competitors including National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank and ANZ.
Mr Snowball said that the appointment to his senior executive team will ensure risk management remains a key focus at the forefront of the group’s operations.
The global financial crisis has reinforced the importance of effective risk management frameworks underpinning the activities of all organisations, especially in the financial sector, Mr Snowball highlighted.
Mr Snowball also thanked acting CRO Andrew Harmer for his contribution since being seconded to the role from Ernst & Young Australia in April 2009.
