UBS chooses Aussie head as global CFO
(Australia) Australian-based Clive Standish has been named as the new global chief financial officer at Swiss bank UBS.
Standish is currently chairman and chief executive officer for UBS Asia Pacific. He will take up the reins as CFO in April 2004.
The bank said it had reintroduced the CFO role to "strengthen the corporate leadership".
Standish, who is currently based in the bank’s Melbourne office, will head up UBS’ finance, risk, treasury and strategy functions.
UBS global CEO Peter Wuffli said Clive was an outstanding leader with a "track record of commercial success with UBS". He said the appointment demonstrated the bank’s leadership depth and would "provide continuity" in risk and finance functions and its US wealth management business.
