Westpac launches new online trading

(29 January 2010 – Australia) Westpac has announced the launch of its new online investing platform for retail customers. The bank has said that the platform is designed to provide trading and research functions to its existing 250,000 broking customers. Westpac expects, with a targeted marketing campaign, to increase its broking customer base by approximately eight percent in the next year.

The new site enables retail customers to use new and upgraded research capabilities, including access to Aegis Research, Reuters newsfeeds and Morningstar analysis.

Other features include quick link navigation, enhanced dynamic charting, displays of market data and access to market information, including key market indices and market maps features for live prices.

Head of Westpac securities, James Staltari, said that the new Westpac Online Investing website will help ensure each customer is in control of their investment potential.

The bank is confident that the improved products and services available on the upgraded website will provide customers with every opportunity to successfully manage their share and investment portfolio, Mr Staltari added.
