Westpac NZ creates Treasury role

(20 April 2010 – New Zealand) Westpac New Zealand has announced the appointment of Jim Reardon, previously a head of department for RBS Australia, to the newly created role of Treasurer. Westpac’s chief financial officer, Richard Jamieson said in a statement that the Mr Reardon will lead the Treasury team, which is responsible for managing Westpac New Zealand Limited’s (WNZL) balance sheet, its access to on-shore and offshore wholesale markets and WNZL’s liquidity management.

Mr Reardon previously has held positions with a number of other financial institutions in both New Zealand and overseas, including ANZ, ING and most recently, as the head of Derivatives Trading at the Bank of Scotland’s Australian arm.

Mr Reardon will be based in Auckland and officially joined the bank yesterday.
