Westpac to boost brand

(16 March 2010 – New Zealand) Westpac Banking Corporation New Zealand has announced the appointment of corporate communications professional, Sue Foley, to the newly created role of Director of Corporate Affairs, in an effort to boost the bank’s brand awareness. Westpac’s chief executive officer, George Frazis, said that the newly created role is a significant one for the bank, involving building Westpac’s brand reputation and having an integrated approach to both internal and external communications.

Westpac is delighted to have Ms Foley on board, and the bank is looking forward to benefiting from her expertise and experience on Westpac’s executive team.

Ms Foley joins the bank from Massy University, where she was the assistant vice-chancellor of External Affairs. Prior to her role with the university Ms Foley was the general manager, Corporate Affairs, Toll New Zealand and has also held a number of senior roles across government, television and public relations.

Ms Foley will commence her role at Westpac on the 22 March, 2010.
