Westpac to target high paid Australian figures

(14 July 2010 − Australia) Westpac Banking Corporation’s retail bank is targeting high earning sports and entertainment figures using Olympic gold medallist Grant Hackett. Mr Hackett has been brought in to head up a new unit dedicated to gaining the banking dollar of more cashed-up sports stars, The Australian newspaper reported.

Mr Hackett was hired by the bank, which were his long time sponsors, initially as a ‘relationship manager’ before moving into his new role.

As part of the bank’s pitch to gain more high paid sports stars they will be offering them private banking services as well as a full suite of financial management and wealth management services.

Tim Horan, former wallabies sporting star, has also been hired to work alongside Mr Hackett.
