ANZ appoints Japan natural resources director
(2 June 2005 – Japan) ANZ has boosted its natural resources expertise in its Japan office with the appointment of new director Jason Bahnsen, recruited from Deutsche Bank.
Based in Tokyo, Bahnsen will be responsible for the bank’s natural resources clients in Japan and across Asia. He will report to ANZ managing director, Asia, David Hornery and general manager, Japan, Michael Black.
Bahnsen’s reporting line will include segment head of Natural Resources, Andrew Wright.
At Deutsche, Bahnsen was vice president, Corporate Finance and head of North Asia Mining and Metals, based in Beijing, which followed four years in the bank’s Corporate Finance business in Melbourne. His natural resources experience includes working at Rio Tinto.
ANZ MD, Asia, David Hornery, said Bahnsen had considerable expertise with natural resources from both an investment banking and industry perspective.
"He is an important addition to our global natural resources team, and a significant boost to our relationship management team in Asia," he said.
