ANZ focus on productivity

(13 February 2008 – Australia) ANZ has shown a strong sign of intent to focus on productivity improvement, opening up a new senior executive role. Margaret Payn has been appointed to the new role, as senior executive, Strategic Business Productivity, reporting to the CEO, Mike Smith.

Smith said that the appointment was to help achieve their medium term goal of building an out-performing business by focusing on productivity as much as revenue and risk management.

Payn will be working closely with the business units on managing costs and general organisation for efficiency and effectiveness, Smith said.

Payn was previously chief financial offer, Personal Division, after joining ANZ in April 2006.
