ANZ nails Asia credentials in year of rat
(6 February 2008 – Australia) Increasingly Asia focussed bank ANZ has used the start of Chinese New Year to announce that it will beef up its private banking services to Chinese and Asian customers.
ANZ Private Bank managing director, Mark Ellis, said the bank would establish a senior Asia Desk team leader and employ more multi-lingual private bankers.
He said the bank would also roll out tailored products to suit the needs of Asian clients and expand sponsorship and other involvement with the Chinese community in Australia and other Asian communities.
The bank will appoint a head of investment products for Asia and also a head of private banking in Hong Kong.
Ellis said the strategy would aggressively grow ANZ’s business and increase market share and revenues.
