CBA names general counsel

(6 February 2008 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank has appointed former Allens Arthur Robinson partner David Cohen as the bank’s group general counsel, replacing the outgoing John O’Sullivan. Cohen joins CBA from his most recent position of general counsel at AMP where he was responsible for leading the in-house legal, risk management and compliance, and company secretariat teams.

He was also chairman of AMP Superannuation Limited.

CBA chief executive officer, Ralph Norris, said Cohen had a strong financial services and legal background.
