APRA Executive Among New Appointments at Judo Bank

APRA Executive Among New Appointments at Judo Bank

(14 June 2024 – Australia) Judo Bank has announced two new senior members of its executive team.

The Australian challenger with a focus on relationship driven SME banking confirmed Renèe Roberts as Chief Risk Officer, effective 6 September, and Rosanna Fornarino as Chief Operating Officer, commencing 2 August.

Renee Roberts will succeed Frank Versace, who will become Chief Strategy and Growth Officer. Roberts is currently Executive Director, Banking, at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and has over 35 years of banking experience across senior positions at NAB, BNZ, and QBE.

Rosanna Fornarino is currently Chief Operating Officer at Hewison Private Wealth and wields more than 35 years of banking experience which included executive roles at ME Bank and NAB.

The executive appointments come less than a couple of months after Judo hit a major milestone of A$10 billion in total lending under the new leadership of Judo Bank CEO Chris Bayliss, setting its sights on A$10.7 billion before the end of FY24.

“We are thrilled to have attracted two such high calibre, senior executives to the Judo leadership team, who both have deep banking experience. This is an exciting time in the journey of our business as we move from building our bank, to scaling our bank. We are pleased that both Renèe and Rosanna recognise the strength of Judo’s business model, and the huge opportunity we have as we continue on our journey of becoming a scale player in the Australian banking landscape” commented Mr Bayliss.

“We see banking as the business of risk management. Since being granted our full banking licence five years ago by APRA, we have built a robust risk management framework, which has been crucial for the delivery of our strategic goals and continued sustainable growth. I’m thrilled that with the appointment of Renèe, we’re assured that our progress will continue to be underpinned by the highest standards of risk management.”
