(South Korea) - Online banking in Korea is at the highest point of visitorship than ever before, according to latest figures released by an Internet research agency. NetValue has reported that in January 2002, 8,260,340 Korean home Internet users visited the banking sector. That figure represents approximately 905,470 more visitors than in December 2001, which had registered an audience of 7,354,870 visitors. NetValue noted that in January 2001, traffic to the e-banking sector was much smaller (at 3,999,570 users).

Online banking is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Internet, with the leading banking website in Korea in January being hncbworld.com, which recorded visitorship increased from 8.9 percent in December to 10.0 percent in January. Sitting second is nonghyup.com, at 6.7 percent reach for the month.
