BNP Paribas Securities Services gets new IT head

(3 December 2004 – Australia) BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed former Accenture consultant Gina Bernard as head of IT. Bernard has been with Accenture (the former Andersen Consulting) since 1991 where she advised financial institutions in Australia and the UK on business transformation implementation, analysis and solutions.

Bernard, who will report to BNP Paribas Securities Services managing director Gail Burke, replaces Francesco Foianesi. Foianesi came to the bank via its acquisition of Cogent from AMP in September 2002. He will leave his current role at the end of this year.

Burke said Bernard’s proven track record in managing business transformation change projects will ensure that "as we continue to grow, we remain effective in our integration of people, processes and technology to deliver client solutions".

Last month, BNP Paribas Securities Services opened its Melbourne branch giving the business offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Wellington.
