Citi group makes major poach

(8 June 2010 – Australia) Tony Osmond has resigned from Goldman Sachs as head of mergers and acquisition after accepting an offer to become Citigroup’s new head of investment banking. At Goldman Sachs Mr Osmond was also responsible for industrial and natural resources, and could also boast a key role in the sale of CSR’s sugar business, Sucrogen, and on the Orica demerger of Dulux.

Mr Osmond will be based in Melbourne and will report to Citi’s head of global banking Chris Knoblanche.
