Eurex derivatives exchange sets up in Australia

(Australia) - Global derivatives market Eurex has set up in Australia and admitted its first local participant. Fortis Clearing Sydney has become Eurex's first Asia-Pacific member, and the exchange says further members are in the process of connecting following regulatory approval in Australia.

Eurex was established in 1998 as a joint venture between Deutsche Borse and the Swiss Stock Exchange. It has 10,000 traders operating worldwide and turns over 3.2 million contracts a day.
