HSBC appoints head of investments, Asia Pacific

(30 May 2007 – Asia) HSBC has made an internal appointment for the role of chief executive of HSBC Investments in Asia Pacific. HSBC has appointed the head of its German investments arm Rudolf Apenbrink to replace Blair Pickerell.

Apenbrink, who joined HSBC in 1993, currently runs the bank’s investment businesses in Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe, and is a member of its global management committee.

His successor in Germany is Bernd Franke.
