KPMG launches debt advisory business

KPMG launches debt advisory business

(28th October, 2003 – Australia) Big Four professional services firm KPMG has launched what it claims is the first independent debt advisory practice in Australia. The new practice will advise corporates on managing, structuring and funding debt as opposed to other debt advisory businesses that focus on project and special purpose finance, KPMG said.

Mark Hopkinson, who is heading up the division, said the service gave clients banking and finance support without them being locked into massive success fees.

He said KPMG had launched a similar service in the UK.

"While the market is untested in Australia, we are confident of a good response," Hopkinson said.
