Mac Bank in talks with Charter Hall

(1 February 2010 – Australia) Macquarie Group and Charter Hall said last week that they are in discussions regarding the potential acquisition of parts of Macquarie’s real estate funds management platform. As part of the possible deal Charter Hall may also acquire the manager of Macquarie’s CountryWide trust.

The release also said that the potential acquisition is incomplete and subject to a number of conditions, and there is no certainty that the transaction will proceed.
