MasterCard appoints CMO

MasterCard appoints CMO

(8 April 2010 – USA) MasterCard has announced that Alfredo Gangotena has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer, MasterCard Worldwide, giving Mr Gangotena responsibility for the card giant’s advertising, sponsorships, promotions, research, insights and digital marketing initiatives. Prior to his recent appointment, Mr Gangotena served as the Global Products and Solutions lead for MasterCard in Europe and has also held the position of CEO of Priceline.com in Asia/Pacific where he gained valuable online marketing experience.

Gary Flood, president global products and solutions for MasterCard said they are pleased to be able to leverage MasterCard’s in-house talent, making Mr Gangotena the next CMO for MasterCard.

Mr Gangotena succeeds Lawrence Flanagan, who has decided to retire after 10 years as the company's CMO, and 14 years with the company.
