New FX ATM at BOQ

New FX ATM at BOQ

(15 May 2009 – Australia) Bank of Queensland has announced a Foreign Exchange ATM in one of its branches, and the first in Australia. BOQ has launched the first in-branch foreign currency ATM in Australia. The FX ATM allows customers to withdraw cash from their debit card.

The new ATM is located at BOQ’s new 116 Queen Street branch, the fifth BOQ branch in Brisbane’s CBD.

Customers will be able to withdraw cash in four currencies, namely; US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros and New Zealand Dollars.

Describing the new ATM, BOQ’s group executive for People and Corporate Services, Daniel Musson, said that all you have to do is put in your debit card, select the currency you want and the amount, and the screen will show you the exchange rate, the equivalent Aussie dollar value on the screen and the fee, so you know exactly what it’s costing you.

The new service and technology is provided by Travelex, the world’s largest foreign exchange company.

Travelex Partner Business regional director, Graham Perry, said that the launch of this new ATM provides travellers with even better options for arranging their travel money ahead of time.

Perry described the ATM, in combination with the Travelex Cash Passport for large amounts of cash, as a one stop solution for travel money that can be sorted in one location.
