St George boosts operations in Victoria

(Australia) - Fifth ranked Australian bank St George has boosted its operations in the state of Victoria, appointing its first Chief of Operations there. The job has been given to former Commonwealth and National Bank Executive Peter Lock, whose first task will be a review of the bank's structure in Victoria.

St George has 28 branches in Victoria, but they are concentrated largely in shopping centre precincts.

One option for the bank is to establish outlets in other locations to generate new business.
