Technical hitch at CBA

Technical hitch at CBA

(16 December 2010 – Australia) A computer glitch which left customers unable to access their account information has been resolved, the Commonwealth Bank has said. The bank said that it had identified the offending issue which caused a "late running overnight file" and that as of midday all issues had been corrected.

"All accounts are now up-to-date and there is no impact to our online channels," a Commonwealth Bank spokesman said.
The bank initially said the problem involved business banking accounts, but it later emerged that retail customers around the country were also affected.

"At most, up to 5 percent of CBA accounts have been impacted," the spokesperson added.

The Commonwealth Bank glitch follows a major technical meltdown at big four rival National Australia Bank which affected payments, leaving thousands of customers without their pays for days.
