ANZ launches small business account switching service
(2 February 2005 – Australia) ANZ has attempted to overcome the reluctance of many small businesses to move their transaction accounts to another provider by launching a new online switching service aimed at the segment.
Claiming it is the first service of its type in Australia, the service is an extension of an online switching tool already in place for consumer banking customers.
The service will allow small business customers to enter their details once in the system and these will be automatically sent to third parties.
ANZ group managing director, Corporate, Graham Hodges said the service was designed to take the hassle out of switching.
"[The service] supports our strategy to grow market share by having more frontline staff to service customers and through developing specialist industry capabilities," he said.
